Bainbridge Island, Washington sits adjacent to Seattle and is an exceptional city in which to live. The island is generally thought to be divided into three main sections: north end, central island, and south end. Each of the three areas has unique features and enticing advantages. For the central island neighborhoods, those advantages include proximity to Winslow, the island’s “downtown,” and proximity to the ferry that provides transport to Seattle in just thirty-five minutes. In addition to Winslow, other central island communities include Battle Point, Derby Downs, Commodore, Ferncliff, Island Center, North Town Woods, Manitou Beach, Murden Cove, Wing Point, and Yeomalt Point.
Yeomalt Point is a charming neighborhood found on the eastern shore of the island. It extends further east than any other point on Bainbridge Island, except South Beach’s Restoration Point. It is very near Winslow, and because of its location, it boasts spectacular views of the Puget Sound and Seattle. Additionally, the neighborhood encompasses the three-acre Camp Yeomalt Park and its historic log cabin, which is a tremendous source of pride for long-time residents. There was a fundraising campaign to restore the cabin and the residents really stepped up to contribute to the renovation project. The cabin may be reserved for functions and is a wonderful place for events such as Christmas in the Country www.christmasinthecountry.info a long-standing tradition on the island. The Yeomalt cabin is also used for children’s summer programs. I have reserved it with friends to hold a baby shower it’s truly a magical place. Along Yeomalt Point Drive there are several gorgeous Yeomalt waterfront properties from which homebuyers can choose. There are also homes for sale in Yeomalt Point that are not waterfront. Because the neighborhood is so geographically diverse, listing prices for Yeomalt homes fall in a very broad range. Waterfront homes in Yeomalt obviously have higher listing prices than homes that are inland, and the size of properties also impacts the price.
